Forgotten password

If you can’t remember your password, you can reset it yourself from the sign-in page. You don’t need to ask an admin, and nobody has to be told.

  1. On the sign-in page, type your email address and choose Continue.

  2. When the password box appears, choose Forgot password?.

  3. HIVE confirms on screen that a link is on its way. Check your inbox for an email titled Reset your HIVE password.

  4. Choose Choose a new password in the email, set your new password, and choose Save new password.

  5. You’re sent back to the sign-in page. Sign in with the new password.

You’re asked to sign in again. That’s the point - resetting your password proves you can read your email, and HIVE deliberately doesn’t treat that as proof of anything more.

If you sign in from a device HIVE doesn’t recognise, you’ll also get a 6-digit verification code by email. On a device you’ve used before, you won’t.

If you were signed in as somebody else on that computer - a shared machine, say - resetting signs that session out. You’ll always land on the sign-in page, never in someone else’s workspace.

A few ordinary reasons, in the order worth checking:

  • The spam folder. The email comes from HIVE, not from your own domain.
  • A different address. Reset works on the address your HIVE account uses. If you have more than one work address, try the other.
  • You sign in with Single Sign-On. Then there’s no HIVE password to reset - use Continue with SSO on the sign-in page instead, and change your password with your identity provider if you need to.
  • Your account is very new. If you’ve never set a password, look for Set up your HIVE account instead.

Reset links can be used once, and they don’t last long - much shorter than a setup link, on purpose. If yours has already expired, just ask for another.

Still stuck? Any of your workspace admins can send you a fresh link from Settings → Team, or raise a support ticket.
