Connecting Platforms

Connect your accounts to HIVE once - social platforms, marketing tools, and analytics - and work with them all from one place. Publish posts and track how they perform, keep up with comments, and see your marketing and analytics stats alongside everything else, without logging in and out of each app.

It’s the same basic idea on every platform:

  1. Open Connect Platforms from your profile menu (top-right) and find the platform you want.
  2. Select the + button on that platform’s card.
  3. You’re taken to the platform’s own login screen to sign in and approve access.
  4. You’re brought back to HIVE. For some platforms, you then choose which account(s) or page(s) to link.

The account then shows as connected.

Once an account is connected, HIVE also brings in its recent history, so your Analytics charts show real data from the moment you connect. For Instagram and LinkedIn, this includes your follower history, so the Audience Growth chart arrives already populated, as far back as each platform provides.

Fetching a channel’s history takes a while, and how much arrives differs by platform. Rather than leaving you guessing, each connected account’s card says where it has got to.

Right after connecting, the confirmation reads “Your account is linked. Where a channel has history to fetch, its card will say so.” - deliberately conditional, because some sources have no history to fetch at all.

On the card itself:

  • Collecting history means HIVE is still working through it. It clears on its own; nothing needs doing.
  • A named chip - Engagement and reach, Followers, or Posts - means that one part didn’t come through. Select it to read why.

The explanations you might see:

What it saysWhat it means
This channel’s history was not collected. Reconnecting will try again. It failed. Reconnect the account.
Collection was interrupted, and we do not know whether it finished.Reconnect if the figures look short.
Instagram only reports follower history for accounts with at least 100 followers, so we could not read a starting figure for this period.Instagram’s own rule, not a fault.
This Page is connected without insights permission, so Facebook does not report these figures. Reconnect it to start measuring.See the note on Facebook statistics.

While anything is still arriving, Analytics carries a matching line naming the channels - “Collecting history for … . Figures for these channels can still change.” - so a figure you read mid-collection isn’t mistaken for a settled one.

  • You always sign in on the platform’s own website - HIVE never sees or stores your password.
  • During sign-in you approve what HIVE may do for you - for example, publish posts and read and reply to comments. You see this before you agree to it.
  • You stay in control: an admin can disconnect any account at any time from the Connect Platforms page.
