Getting Started

HIVE is the operating system for marketing and communications teams - your social platforms, internal comms, planning, and analytics in one place.

There’s no setup wizard. Hive Pulse is your home dashboard. This page is the lay of the land: what to do first if you’re setting things up, and where everything is once you’re in.

These first steps are for admins - your role shows as Admin Editor or Admin Viewer in your profile menu (top-right). If you’re not an admin, skip to Finding your way around.

Go to Settings → Team & Roles and choose Add User Role for each person you want to add. As you add someone, you choose what they can do:

  • Admin - can manage the team and connect platforms.
  • Editor - can create and manage content.
  • Viewer - can see what’s there, but not change it.

Admin is separate from Editor and Viewer, so a person can be an admin who also edits (Admin Editor) or an admin who only views (Admin Viewer).

You don’t set a password for them. HIVE emails each person a single-use link and they choose their own - so there’s nothing for you to pass on, and no admin ever sees anybody’s password.

Link your social accounts so you can publish to them and track them from HIVE. Connecting is admin-only - see the full guide:

The main areas run along the top of the screen. Anyone on the team can open them; what you can change in each depends on your role.

  • Hive Pulse - your home. A quick overview of what’s happening across your communications, with shortcuts into each area.
  • External - manage your public presence across all channels: publish to your connected social platforms and keep up with them.
  • Internal - keep your team connected and informed with your internal communications.
  • Planning - plan and organise your content on a board.
  • Analytics - insights across all your communications.

Your profile menu (top-right) is where you’ll find Connect Platforms, Settings, and log out.
