Setting up your account

When someone adds you to a HIVE workspace, you get an email titled Set up your HIVE account. Nobody sets a password for you - you choose your own, and nobody at your organisation or at HIVE ever sees it.

  1. Open the email and choose Set your password.

  2. Choose a password. HIVE tells you the rule on screen - currently at least 12 characters. There are no forced capitals, digits or symbols; length is what matters.

  3. Type it again to confirm, then choose Set password & continue.

  4. You’re signed in straight away and land on Hive Pulse.

You will not be asked for a verification code this first time. Opening the link from your own inbox already confirmed it was you, and HIVE remembers the device you set your password on.

Setup links can be used once, and they don’t last forever. If you get a page saying the link is no longer valid, that’s all it means - the link is spent or has aged out. Your account is fine.

Two ways to get a new one:

  • On the sign-in page, enter your email address, choose Continue, then Forgot password?
  • Or ask one of your workspace admins to send you a new one.

Some organisations sign in to HIVE through their own identity provider instead of a HIVE password. If yours does, you won’t get a setup email - you just sign in with Continue with SSO on the sign-in page and your account connects itself the first time.

From then on you sign in with your email and the password you chose. If you sign in from a device HIVE doesn’t recognise - a new laptop, a different browser, a phone - it emails you a 6-digit verification code to confirm it’s you and remember that device.
