Changing your password

If you know your current password and just want a new one, change it from inside HIVE. This is the everyday path, and it hasn’t changed.

1. Open Settings from your profile menu (top-right).

2. Go to the Security tab.

3. Enter your current password, then your new one twice.

4. Save.

Your new password has to meet the same rule as everywhere else in HIVE - at least 12 characters, with no forced capitals, digits or symbols.

Note

You need your current password here. That’s what proves it’s you, so no email or link is involved. If you’ve forgotten it, use the forgotten-password route instead.

Forgotten password Get a reset link emailed to you from the sign-in page.

What this doesn’t do

Changing your password doesn’t sign you out of HIVE on this device, and it doesn’t make HIVE forget devices you’ve already verified. It does retire any password links sitting in your inbox - if you’d asked for a reset link and then changed your password here instead, that old link stops working.

If you sign in with Single Sign-On

There’s no password to change. Your identity provider handles it, so change it there and it applies to HIVE automatically.
