1.5.0 - 2026-09-28
What’s new since 1.4.1 - LinkedIn joins the platforms you can connect. Social posts can be saved as drafts and finished later, or sent to the people who need to sign them off before they go out. The Employees Directory becomes Contacts, with groups you can pick in one go wherever you choose recipients, and a crisis protocol can now go to several Final Approvers.
New features
Section titled “New features”- LinkedIn is now available to connect. Publish to your LinkedIn Company Pages, PDF document posts included, handle their comments and mentions in the Unified Inbox, and follow their performance in Analytics. The posts already on your Pages are brought into HIVE too. See Connect LinkedIn.
- Drafts for social posts. Save a post as a draft and pick it up later with what you saved still in place. Drafts are listed in Posts Overview, and a draft with a date appears on the calendars without being scheduled. See Drafts.
- Send a post for approval. Choose one or more contacts to sign off a post before it goes out. They don’t need a HIVE account: each gets a private link to preview the post and approve it or send it back with a note. The first answer decides, and an approval publishes or schedules the post straight away. A post going to YouTube can’t be sent for approval yet. See Sending a post for approval.
- Follow your approval requests. Posts waiting for approval are marked in Posts Overview and on the External home, and on the Pulse Timeline when they have a date. You’re emailed when an approver answers, and every request and answer is recorded in the audit log. See Sending a post for approval.
- Contact groups. Save a set of contacts under one name and pick the whole group wherever you choose recipients, from newsletters and share dialogs to crisis protocols and approvals. See Contact groups.
- Several Final Approvers on a crisis protocol. Send a protocol to several approvers, or to a contact group, and the first approval is final for everyone. See Choosing the Final Approvers.
- Resend crisis emails that didn’t go out. If an email to an approver or recipient fails, HIVE lists who missed it right after you send, and you can send it again from that list. See If an email doesn’t go out.
Improvements
Section titled “Improvements”- The Employees Directory is now Contacts. It’s the same list under a new name, in Settings and everywhere you pick recipients. Only a name and an email address are required, and an address that isn’t a valid email is refused. See Contacts.
- Easier CSV import. Only the name and email columns are required, header names aren’t case-sensitive, and a few other names are accepted for department and job title. See Importing contacts from a CSV file.
- One recipient picker everywhere. Newsletters, press releases, share dialogs and crisis protocols now use the same searchable list of your contacts and groups. See Picking recipients.
- Clearer sharing by email. Addresses you type for people outside your contacts have their own field, and HIVE checks them and counts your recipients before you send. See Sharing a newsletter.
- Removing a contact asks for confirmation first. See Removing a contact.
- Add recipients on crisis protocols leaves out every Final Approver, including inside a picked contact group, and says why. See Adding recipients later.
- Post approval emails in Email analytics. They have their own category and can be sent from your own domain. When HIVE’s address sends them they record no opens or clicks, so they lower your Communications open and click rates. See HIVE Email - Communications.
- An easier-to-read Social Media Beehive, with a thin line between rows. See Social Media Beehive.
- Posts Overview tidy-ups. A post without a caption says so, and New Post goes straight to the composer. See Where it lives.
Bugfixes
Section titled “Bugfixes”- Removed contacts could still use their links and receive emails. Removing a contact now cancels all of their crisis protocol and post approval links, and they drop out of every recipient list, so nothing new is sent to them. See Removing a contact.
- Adding a removed contact’s email address again was refused. It now restores the contact. See Adding a contact.
- A new Final Approver on a sent crisis protocol could get the wrong link, or none. A re-sent protocol could give them the previous approver’s link, recording their approval under the wrong name, and changing the approver on an active protocol emailed no one. Every approver now gets their own link, and anyone taken off loses theirs. See Changing a sent protocol.
- Sharing a crisis protocol with a former Final Approver let them approve it. Anyone added through Add recipients now gets a view-only link. See Adding recipients later.
- The “Changes not yet sent” marker on crisis protocols was unreliable. It now appears only when the content has actually changed, and clears after a share. See Changing a sent protocol.
- The crisis cc email promised an approval notification that was never sent. See What the emails say.
- The crisis approval page could offer approval on a protocol that wasn’t active, and showed technical text when something went wrong. See The recipient’s link and approval page.
- Add recipients on a crisis protocol could be closed while it was still sending. See Adding recipients later.
- Posts published straight away, and imported posts, were missing from the Pulse Timeline. They now appear at the time they went out. See Pulse Timeline.
- Editing a scheduled post for several platforms changed channels that had already gone out. See Tracking your posts.
- Edit Scheduled Post accepted a publish time that had already passed. See Tracking your posts.
- Instagram people tags could end up on the wrong photo after photos were removed or reordered. See Instagram extras.
- Publishing with TikTok selected could get stuck on Processing for some videos. See Social publishing.
- A deleted scheduled YouTube post still showed as Scheduled. See Tracking your posts.
- Scheduled YouTube posts offered an Edit button that always failed. It’s no longer shown. See Tracking your posts.
- Contacts saved without a job title were given the title “Employee”. See Adding a contact.
- Contacts without a department showed empty brackets in the newsletter and press release composers. See Choosing recipients.
- A contact list that failed to load looked empty instead of saying it couldn’t load. See Choosing recipients.
- CSV import results didn’t say which row failed, and a file refused as a whole looked like a success. See Importing contacts from a CSV file.
- Select All in the share dialogs wiped addresses you had typed. See Sharing a newsletter.
- The same person could be emailed twice when sharing a document or newsletter, or sending a press release. See Sharing a newsletter.
- Changing your signature from the document or survey share dialog cleared your recipients. See Choosing recipients.
- When your company branding failed to load, a newsletter could go out in HIVE’s default colours and save them over your company default. See Your branding is remembered.
- The Internal dashboard’s contact count didn’t update until you reloaded the page. See Internal.
