Connect TikTok

HIVE connects to your TikTok account so you can publish videos and see how your account is performing - alongside your other platforms.

Before you start: what you need

To connect TikTok to HIVE, you need a TikTok account - the one you want to post from. You’ll sign in with it during the connection. TikTok doesn’t need any special account type or setup.

You also need to be a HIVE admin

Only HIVE admins can connect a platform. If you don’t see a + button on the TikTok card, you’re not an admin - ask one of your admins to connect it (you can find them in Settings → Team & Roles).

Connect TikTok, step by step

1. Open your profile menu (top-right) and choose Connect Platforms.

2. Find the TikTok card and select the + button in its corner.

3. A window opens on TikTok. Sign in and approve the access HIVE asks for.

4. You’re brought back to HIVE, and your TikTok account shows as connected.

Your TikTok account now shows as connected on the Connect Platforms page.

What to expect during connection

• You sign in on TikTok. The sign-in screen and the screen listing HIVE’s access are TikTok’s own - HIVE never sees or stores your TikTok password.
• You approve what HIVE can do - publish videos, and see your account’s analytics (followers, views, and engagement).
• Leave all the permissions on. TikTok lets you turn individual permissions on or off on that screen; if you leave any off, publishing or analytics won’t work.

Note

When you first connect an account, its analytics build up from the connection date - TikTok gives a running total rather than past day-by-day history, so there’s nothing to fill in behind you and your first day-over-day figure needs a second day to compare against. After that, TikTok analytics refresh every hour, the same as your other platforms. Sparse numbers at first are expected, not a problem.

If it doesn’t work

Most problems are one of these

• No + button on the TikTok card - you’re signed in to HIVE as a non-admin. Ask an admin to connect it (see Settings → Team & Roles).
• “TikTok permissions are missing for this action” - some permissions weren’t granted when you connected. Reconnect your TikTok account and approve all the requested permissions.

Disconnect or reconnect

• Disconnect: on the Connect Platforms page, select your connected TikTok account, choose Disconnect Account, and confirm. It’s removed from HIVE and you can reconnect it later. (Admins only.)
• Reconnect or refresh: connect again with the + button, or use Re-authenticate Account on the connected account to refresh its access.
